  • Why does your WB Experimental consistently fail? Check out the following reasons!

    February 20, 2024

Today, let's talk about the problem that has caused countless research colleagues headaches - Western Blot (WB) experiment. This seemingly simple but full of "traps" experiment, why does it always make us stumble again and again? Now let's review the reasons for failures together. I. No bands Possible reasons may include: Antibody issues: The antibody may be ineffective, nonspecific, or not binding to the target protein. Sample issues: The sample may contain interfering substances, be too low in concentration, or have already degraded. Electrophoresis issues: Inappropriate electrophoresis conditions, such as voltage, time, or improper use of buffer. Transfer issues: Problems during the transfer process, such as inappropriate membrane selection, transfer time, or transfer buffer. Blocking issues: The blocking solution may be inappropriate or the blocking time may be too long. Staining issues: The staining reagent may be expired, insensitive, or improperly used. Equipment issues: The equipment may malfunction or not be properly calibrated.

  • Why are petri dishes inverted during culturing?

    January 15, 2024

To begin with, when the dishes are incubated in the normal postion, water evaporation from media occurs. Then water condenses from the lid onto the container and drops fall on the colonies developed on the media surface, which causes mixing of colonies, further uneven microbial growth, and even problem in counting. In comparison, inversion effectively avoids this potential risk. Furthermore, inversion reduces the rate of evaporation and prevents the medium from drying out. This extends the longevity of the medium and allows for sustained microbial activity. Lastly, when petri dishes are inverted, contaminants may only deposit on the lid. This is a beneficial practice because it prevents the contaminants from coming into direct contact with the culture medium, thereby minimizing the risk of contamination. • Caution Label Attached for PS Products Notification

    August 22, 2023

Dear NEST customers, Thank you for your choosing NEST products. We would like to inform you that we are attaching a caution label on the outer cases of PS products. Polystyrene (PS) is a commonly used thermoplastic material which is well-known for its excellent water resistance, stability, and high transparency. It serves as the primary material for various popular NEST products, such as Cell Culture Plates, Cell Culture Dishes, Cell Culture Flasks, and BioFactory. However, it is important to note that PS has low impact resistance and is prone to breakage due to its rigidity and brittleness. Therefore, extra caution is necessary when handling and transporting PS products. In order to remind our customers to handle these products with the utmost care during transportation, NEST has included caution labels on the outer cases of PS products (please refer to Fig., the outer case of 773204). Best Regards, Wuxi NEST Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
